Benefits of Buggyfit: Stress relieving and energizing Effective and safe postnatal workout with a qualified personal trainer Motivation to meet regularly to exercise- 1 hour social class with time to chat to other mums Bring baby/babies. No crèche or babysitter needed Increased sense of well-being from exercising outdoors Mixture of cardio-vascular and strength training, improve posture and strengthen core muscles Great for fat burning Group support for new mums Safe pre-natal workout if carrying your next already FUN!! What we do: A buggyfit class is suitable for all fitness levels whether you ran until you went into labour, or haven't exercised since school, and everything in between. We always start off with a warm-up followed by a brisk walk to raise the heart-rate, allowing any late comers to join in as they arrive (getting out of the door with a baby is never easy!). There is an option to run for fitter mums and those who feel ready to push themselves a little bit harder. During the early postnatal period and if suffering from certain conditions running may not be appropriate- advice is always avaliable. The second part of the class may vary, but could include toning and strengthening exercises for the upper and lower body using bands, games, boxing- a great stress reliever and a real favourite, abdominal work to tone up wobbly tummies or step-ups. You will never be asked to do anything that is inappropriate for your fitness level or ability and can choice to opt out of any part of the class. We do aim to work hard to get great results though and alternatives will be suggested. The class finishes with a cool-down and stretch session leaving you invigorated and ready to get the most out of your day. Throughout the class the emphasis is on good posture, core and pelvic strength whilst hopefully having lots of fun. All participants will be asked to fill out a pre-exercise before they start to record medical and personal details relevant to a buggyfit class. This information is kept strictly confidential. If you would like me to email you a form to bring with you please get in touch. What to bring: A buggy! Any sort will do as the walking part of the class take place on firm even surfaces Trainers or comfortable flat shoes Comfortable, layered clothing (not jeans) as we do get warm A good supportive bra waterproof coat and buggy rain cover In winter, hats and gloves In summer remember sun block, hat and shade for you and your baby Drinks and snacks for your baby if appropriate A drink of water for yourself A towel or picnic blanket for floor work
